  • October 28, 2005 - "Services in the Community" presented by Alachua ARC.
  • January 28, 2006   Time: 10:30 - 12:00 Noon. Supported Living. Ed Rousseau will make a presentation about the benefits of supported living, along with general concepts about this type of support. Area 3 folks will invite provider(s) and person(s) w ho receive supported living services to give first-hand perspective.
  • March 2006* - Supported Living Options - present the variety of options available for supported living arrangements, resources and contact persons.

This event will be coordinated with Area 3 APD office, with involvement of Family Care Council.
  • July 28th, 2006 10:00AM to 11:30AM - Tacachale will be providing another educational opportunity forum to share information about supports available in the community. We have invited licensed mental health counselors and certified behavior analysts to discuss provision of these Medicaid Waiver services. Using a panel discussion format, each professional will provide a brief description of how they provide these services, including process for referrals, authorization, and other logistics, along with examples of services provided. Without breaking confidentiality, success stories will be shared to provide a good overview about how these services can help individuals succeed in community settings. We plan to include at least 45 minutes for these experts to field questions from participants. Invited providers include Astrid Hall, Paul Redline, and Tom Moore.

    Topic: Socialization, Recreation, and Various Support Options in the Community
    Summary: Area 3 APD staff and local providers will discuss how individuals living in the community enjoy social, recreational, and leisure resources. Services available through Medicaid Waiver and natural supports will be described. Individuals living in the community will talk about their own experiences and how much they enjoy community living.
